Digital Product Passport

Pending legislation around Digital Product Passports (DPPs) is on the horizon. This legislation, while yet to be fully defined, requires the implementation of digital triggers and consolidation of data around material provenance, carbon footprints, as well as product care, repair and recycling. Are you DPP ready?

What is DPP, and why should you care?

The Digital Product Passport initiative is part of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and one of the key actions under the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP).

DPP aims to improve traceability and transparency along a product's entire value chain while driving the management and sharing of product-related data, helping to ensure sustainable use, prolonged life, and circularity. DPPs will be legally required in the EU for several product categories as part of ESPR, with the rollout for textiles expected no later than 2030.
